Israeli Official Warns of Repeated Palestinian Rockets Attacks

An Israeli official warned on Monday against the ongoing Palestinian rocket attacks on southern Israel.

Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said, during a visit to the Sderot, that Israel will respond aggressively if Palestinian attacks from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel escalate.

Shalom said, "Israel will not return of the situation to what it was before the Operation Cast Lead." The Israeli army ended a war last December in the Gaza Strip to stop Palestinian rocket attacks on southern Israel.

The recently fired rockets and missiles at southern Israel came from Gaza Strip after a state of calm since the end of the December war.
