Shocker: Syria Denies Aiding Terror Groups in Lebanon

Shocker: Washington accuses Syria of smuggling arms to terror groups in Lebanon. US Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad cited clear evidence of “arms transfers to terrorist groups” in Lebanon.

Another shocker: Syria’s UN Ambassador Bashar Ja’afari dismissed the allegations. “We denied it many times and we are still denying it,” he said, claiming the evidence came only from Israeli intelligence – which would somehow make it less credible in his eyes.

Syria occupied Lebanon for nearly three decades. In 2005, it withdrew tens of thousands of troops amid allegations that it played a role in assassinating former premier Rafik Hariri. It is still fomenting violence through its support of terror groups.
