Challenging the Validity of a TNR Article on Iraq

Worldwide Standard blogger, Michael Goldfarb, issued a challenge to the blogosphere.

The New Republic recently published an article by an anonymous “soldier currently serving in Baghdad”. It portrays U.S. troops as barbarians who mock injured colleagues, desecrate Iraqi dead, and torture animals.

The New Republic has had reliability problems in the past.

Military blogs here, here and here question the article’s veracity. Goldfarb also points to possible inaccuracies, and challenges fellow bloggers to determine the reliability of the TNR account. If you can add anything, email him at wws@weeklystandard.com.
