According to WAFA, the PLO’s news agency, Hamas militias stormed a house belonging to an employee of the PA’s Ministry of Waqf and
Religious Affairs on Saturday. The man was also Imam of mosque in the Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya.

Witnesses said that members of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades broke into the home of Jawad al-Madhoon, Imam of al-Ribat mosque, opened fire and threw two grenades on the roof, despite the fact that children were inside. The reasons for the attack were not clear.

While PLO and Fatah websites such as Maan and WAFA are often virulently anti-Israel, they are now also anti-Hamas. As such, they provide valuable insight into the Talibanization of Gaza under Hamas.
