Washington, D.C. — The Jewish Policy Center announced today its newest project, Palestinian Rocket Report.

After Hamas’ violent takeover of the Gaza Strip in June 2007, Palestinian rocket attacks against Israel have increased dramatically. While the news media often portray these attacks as a nuisance, Israel’s ambassador to Washington argues that rockets can constitute a strategic threat.

Palestinian Rocket Report provides background and technical information on Qassams and other rockets launched by jihadi groups in the Gaza Strip. The JPC’s new project also details the damage these attacks have caused in Israeli population centers, both physically and emotionally. Finally, Palestinian Rocket Report‘s news feed provides important daily updates on attacks from a variety of sources.

“Most Americans don’t understand the gravity of the threat to southern Israel,” said Jewish Policy Center Executive Director Matt Brooks. “There’s a real need for a centralized site providing updated data on the daily bombardments. We hope this project will be useful for policymakers, but also for anyone interested in Israel’s continued struggle against these ongoing terrorist attacks.”
