GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Two resistance groups in Gaza claimed fire toward Israeli military and civilian targets on Thursday morning, in statements which said fighters would continue projectile launches.
A second statement released after 3 p.m. claimed a third, a joint launch by the groups.
The armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees said fighters launched a projectile toward the Karmia kibbutz south of Ashkelon early in the day, and said fighters "survived an attack" from the northern Strip.
Israel's military said an air strike targeted "a group of terrorists preparing to launch rockets at Israeli territory, and thwarted the attempt by firing at them," with medics saying one was injured in the northern Strip near a Jabaliya gas station.
A separate statement from the Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said fighters launched two projectiles at an Israeli military target.
The statement said the projectiles aimed at the Sufa military base in the southern Gaza Strip, and added that the attack was an "assurance of our commitment to resistance."
In the afternoon, the brigades released a joint statement saying fighters launched projectiles at an unnamed target toward Israel's Eshkol region, adjacent to the southern Gaza Strip.
It was the fourth Grad-style projectile fired toward the Negev in the past three days, the brigades said.
