EL-ARISH, Egypt (Ma'an) -- Saudi Arabia will send six planes of medical aid to the Gaza Strip via Egypt on Friday, Egyptian authorities said Tuesday.
A delegation from Saudi Arabia will arrive in Sinai's el-Arish airport on Wednesday and head to Gaza to coordinate the delivery of thousands of tons of medicine and medical supplies, which will take place in several batches over two weeks.
Tareq Khater, undersecretary of the Health Ministry in North Sinai, told Ma'an that delegations from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Palestine met in el-Arish on Sunday to discuss hospital needs in Gaza.
Tareq al-Arnousi headed the delegation of five doctors from Saudi Arabia, while the Palestinian delegation included health ministry officials and Red Crescent representatives, Khater said.
