Warning sirens in the town of Nahariya went off by accident and residents in the area reported hearing explosions, but the sounds were apparently sonic booms by Israeli air force. Hours after four Katyusha rockets landed near the Israeli towns of Nahariya and Galeli, Israeli media said that a new barrage of rockets was fired from Lebanon into Israel. The Lebanese army had earlier started a comprehensive search in the area where the Katyusha rockets were fired from in the early morning attack. Meanwhile, the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, UNIFIL, intensified patrols in the southern border areas.
