Israeli police say a Palestinian rocket has lightly wounded one person after striking an apartment building in southern Israel.
The rocket struck the building in the city of Ashkelon just before noon.
Ashkelon is about 11 miles (17 kilometers) north of the Gaza Strip. The city has been frequently targeted several times during Israel's two-week offensive in Gaza.
Israel has been pounding targets connected to the ruling Hamas militant group in Gaza in a bid to halt the rocket fire. The offensive has greatly reduced the rocket attacks, but has so far been unable to stop them altogether.
