Savages, Apes, and Pigs, oh my!

It's feeding time at the zoo. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad describes Israel as a savage animal, while Hamas' Fathi Hammad described Israel has being a land of four million apes and pigs.

What's the story with this anti-Semitic menagerie? Jews have been described as pigs and primates by Muslims for centuries thanks to Sura 7:166, Sura 2:65, and Sura 5:60 in the Quran.

During the Lebanon war of 2006, Lebanese Cleric Fathi Yakan also referred to Israel as a land of apes and pigs. In 2004, a Canadian sheikh called Jews brothers of monkeys and swine.
