The financial markets continue to plummet, spurred on by the subprime mortgage meltdown.

Amidst the crisis, the Anti-Defamation League has observed hundreds of anti-Semitic posts on the web. Comments include: “Jews control finance and are part of a ‘Jew world order,'” “Jews have infiltrated Wall Street,” and “Jews love money nothing else.”

A Hamas mouthpiece blamed the crisis on the “Jewish lobby.” He further stated that the Jewish lobby “controls the US elections and defines the foreign policy… to retain control of the American government and economy.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed Zionists “who had taken control of the whole world order,” but added that this would soon change.
