More on Hasan's jihadist tendencies are now surfacing. According to U.S. intelligence, Hasan attempted to contact al-Qaeda months ago. He also reportedly shouted "Allahu akbar!" – "God is great!" – at the start of his attack.
In commenting, JPC distinguished fellow Daniel Pipes notes that Americans must not be afraid of discussing the role of Islam in this massacre. Distinguished fellow Bill Bennett notes that the incident at Fort Hood illustrates that the war on Islamic terrorism is not isolated to Iraq and Afghanistan. Finally, distinguished fellow David Horowitz notes that the event at Fort Hood sheds light on the internal jihadist threat in America, and the outcome of our ignoring it.
