There really is no point in dealing with or talking to Bashir, the de facto dictator of Syria. Like father like son. The power game is what's at stake. Neither of the al-Assads care what happens in the region as long as it doesnt personally affect them (the son). Arming Hezbollah or Hamas means thugs running around trying their utmost to sow mayhem against Israel, and if some of these thugs are killed, who really cares, as there are plenty more brainwashed, illiterate young men to send as cannon fodder. Case in popint: the cold blooded assassination of Rafik Hariri, with no one held responsible.
