Clean energy, as the Democrats use the term, means government control of everything energy. Clean energy means "spcoialism" wheby government ownership is via regulation nad not by legal title. You talk of government manipulating the market to send price messages to the energy producers. How is that "conservative" while regulations are "Democrat?"
You are right on one thing only: stewardship. Most corporations do believe in stewardship, and certainly polluters need to be held to account. But pollution is destruction of other's private property, whether you call it stewardship or not.
You lament our reliance on fossil fuels and yet you do not recommend nuclear energy. Nuclkear energy is clean, cheao, safe and will lessen our dependence on fossil fuels, although why that is a bad thing, I still do not know. Perhaps God used 4 billions years of creation to provide for us these fossil fuels. Or not.
Drill, baby, drill is not an energy policy. It is a cry of freedom. It is saying to the government to get off of our backs. If we want to drill, do not stop us. If we want cars that get 8 miles to the gallon, then let us. DO not treat us like children and demand that we have cars that get 40 mph. Do not artificially raise the price of gas so that we do not have the freedom to travel. Drill, baby, drill is a battle cry for freedom.
Your short-sightedness is wrong. THis essay sounds like something a post-conservative wrote - someone who has left the conservative movement and crossed the isle to the liberal side.
Drill, baby, drill is about freedom.
