Rediculous

Reader comment on: The Far Left's War on Birthright Israel

Submitted by Gideon Tehomi (United States), Jul 15, 2011 15:15

Kiera Feldman's claims about Birthright are simply ridiculous.

I went on Birthright and have been involved with them locally over the years. After my personal experience with the trip I came back and actually complained the exact opposite. After hearing "both sides" the whole trip - no matter how factually incorrect the claims about the "palestinians" were, I felt the trip was not "Hawkish Zionist" enough. But that could well, you know...be because I'm actually a Zionist. I love the Jewish State! I want what is in her best interests, and want others to love her just as much as I do.

The reality is that their programming is evenhanded to one who actually remembers what the term "evenhanded" actually means. What Kiera wants is something just slightly Right of her Far, Far Left, Anti-Israel feelings. It seems that what she wants is an Anti-Israel Birthright trip funded by the Jewish community. One which under the guise of promoting Judaism, actually ensures that everyone hates Israel when they leave it, and instead of growing their love of Judaism and our only Jewish State gains instead leaves the Jewish tripe with a sympathy for those blowing up Jews in bus stops, and calling for the destruction of Israel. I guess a Anti-Israel propaganda trip that promotes the false narrative of the "palestinian" People is what would be "evenhanded" as far as she is concerned.

Well, those trips actually do exist, but they are hardly "Jewish", and they don't need to be funded by the Jewish community - especially Birthright.
