Reader comment on: Syria and the Shebaa Farms Dispute

Submitted by Samuel, Mar 11, 2009 11:16

The case with Sheea Farms will always be controversial as long as Syria is permitted to rule the roost in the region. Never mind that the original 1923 French Mandate maps show that the contested area is actyally Syrian ,so why the belligerence from a state that lost this territory in times of war. If Syria ia so concerned, then let Bashir al Assad sign a peace treaty with Israel to show her true intentions, peace in the region not trouble making. This will never happen, because like father, like son, the point is absolute power and dictatorship.
