Reader comment on: Syria and the Palestinian Refugee Problem

Amazingly (not really) Syria and its fascist leader Bashar Al-Assad are the stumbling block to peace in the Middle East. The overriding fact is that like father like son, neither wanted or wants the problems solved as that would mean taking the power away from the dictator. Isn't it just wonderful when one can pick up the phone to Khaled or Ishmael in Damascus or Cairo and order them to do the dirty work without getting ones hands dirty or stained. Or how about supping with the Devil incarnate in Tehran, realising fully that you are indispensable and no harm will befall you? One really needs a huge ego or just plain audacity to carrying on with this sinister charade.
