American Jewry is too much involved in old Holocast when the new one is around the corner.

Reader comment on: IBM and the Holocaust

Submitted by Tatiana (United States), Mar 9, 2012 03:59

From my name you can see that I am a Russian Jew. East European Jews lost in Holocast 2/3 of the population and almost 100% on occupied territories. I grew up listening to wailing of my grandmother about her murdered in Holocaust relatives. Born after the war, now over sixty, myself grandmotherly age, I am wondering why American Jews so obsessed with Holocaust in Europe, in which they themselves didn't perish, while Jewish students today on US university campuses hunted and insulted exactly as it was in 1933 in Germany.

Why American Jewry with all their might and money is looking back on the events contemporary to our great grandparents and doesn't want to see horrible anti-Semitic propaganda all over the Internet. Why secular American Jews are collaborating with pro-Palestinian groups on university campuses in their demonizing Israel and attacks on Zionism.

Unfortunately I know the reason. American Jews don't have any validation of their Jewish identity besides Holocaust and it is their only platform to fight anti-Semitism, because no one wants to be identified with Nazis. It doesn't help already. Unless American Jews will turn into defenders of Israel on the basis of G-d's given land and define themselves as G-d's chosen people - they don't have any foundation to fight aganst enemies. Making Holocast a new Idolatry will not help.
