I would say dishonesty and greed are responsible for this crisis, especially in government. The community reinvestment act started the housing crisis, plus Acorn's involvement, the failure of Fannie and Freddie, Shearson Lehman, JP Morgan, Citi Bank, and on and on. Banks were loaning to people who couldn't afford the American dream. Massive spending and printing of money, the government actually doesn't have. The Rob Peter to pay Paul strategy has made everyone tighten their belt and feel the economy is hopeless. Then we have an appeasement strategy of terrorism and the new administration seems to blame America for the problems of the world, calling us arrogant., demoralizing our spirit. Alot of the American people have been responsible citizens, working two jobs to pay for their childrens college, paying off their mortgages, not abusing credit cards, and paying off their creditors. We are the ones with the weight on our shoulders, while the kool aid drinkers refuse to look at reality and get a free ride, thinking this administration will save them!
There are those who have abused the system totally and many of us are disgusted with those that lack discipline, morals, honesty, and ethics. The unions and the companies found out they could get bailed out by the government, when they make bad decisions. There was greed on both sides of the aisle. Finally the Capital free-market system is being destroyed, so I hope everyone realizes that the former America will seem like a wonderful dream compared to what is happening.
