Regardless how cynical it is but that's what the US (and Israel as a tangential beneficiary) has to pursue. The only difference that US should make is not to supply arms to rebels directly but STRONGLY convince Saudis Qataris, and other Sunni states supporting rebels to provide these weapons purchased from USA. And US has to entice them by charging low prices for such weapons, provide antitank arms and sell armored vehicles and cannons to rebels. Our goal should be destabilize Iran. And if this civil war serves this purpose we have to extend as much as possible making it the War of the Roses.
