devout Christians massacre Jews?

Thanks for hosting this interesting and valuable symposium. I found much to agree with, and questioned only the comment made by Michael Medved and david Horowitz that "devout Christians" had massacred Jews.
There are different defintions of "Christian" to be be sure, but shouldn't a proper understanding of the word include at least a sincere desire to follow the teachings of Christ and the apostles? No one can do this perfectly, but we can avoid, and countless Christians have avoided, slaughtering Jews.
The bible plainly teaches that thieves, liars, drunkards, murderers, will not go to heaven. It says in I John that "No murderer has eternal life." It says in Galatians and Revelation that murderers "will not inherit the kingdom of God."
Some claim the Nazis were Christians - did Hitler even once mention the Trinity, the Virgin birth, the death of Christ on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world, his resurrection?
Jesus said "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." No Christians has ever lived up to this fully, but countless Christians in many countries over many centuries have been able to follow it so far as not to slaughter people.
