Turkey and EU membership

Reader comment on: Turkey On The Brink

Submitted by Samuel, Mar 8, 2009 05:21

Turkey wants to join the European Union someday. Well she can wait for a very long time yet judging by the outbursts of its Prime Minister /President concerning Israel's response to Hamas belligerence in southern Israel. A question for the panel- When the Kurdish Peoples Party in Mosul (Iraq) agitate for a homeland of their own on border with Iraq, the Turkish armed forces are quick to respond with violence, yet they are both Muslim nations, so why the hypocrisy? Turkey should never be part of greater Europe, that's pretty clear .
