There's no way Bashar al Assad, son of madman Hafez, is going to listen and then agree to what the Americans or the European Union have to say to him. As far as he is concerned, he's the Arab liberator from Western/Zionism control of the world. The more he condemns Israel/Zionism, the bigger the hero he becomes in the Arab world. It's pretty clear now, after the Gaza conflict that he'll continue to support Hezbollah/Hamas and other radical terrorist groups in the region. After all it was his hand involved in the asssination of Rafik Hariri in Lebanon. That's indisputable, and other killings in Lebanon. As the saying goes, absolute power corrupts.
