Reader comment on: Syrian-Israeli Cold War is the Best Bet

Submitted by Samuel, Aug 23, 2009 06:18

A cold war atmosphere like that between the Western way of life and the Eastern way ,democracy ,freedom etc. compared to Commmunism/Marxism despotism is what,s needed between Israel and Syria. Now that Russia has seemingly joined the free and capitalistic world and to pre-occupied to worry about it,s former proxies in the Middle East ,maybe the renegade in Damascus will wake up one morning having seen the light and decide to do something positive and differrent for once. That means expelling Khaled Meshaal ,Iamail Haniyeh and other known trouble makers from the capital and the region as a whole and getting down to serious business and notplaying the silly infantile games he,s been occupied with for so long. It,s time for Syria to act responsibly and not encourage extremists in the region ,but will he ever see this light and change his evil ways as Santana sang all those years ago?Time will tell.
