Good, but somewhat misdirected

Reader comment on: Letter to the Editor - Breaking Our Oil Addiction

Submitted by Alan B Groh (United States), Sep 23, 2009 15:38

While the arguments Marc Goldman makes are good, they are somewhat misdirected. Specifically, US gets 23.5% of its petroleum products (including crude oil) from Canada. Some significant portion of the remaining imports come from "non-hostile" states such as Mexico, Brazil, etc. So, imports are not an entirely objectionable situation. And the solution for the US is so simple: DRILL, BABY, DRILL!
