Good, but somewhat misdirected

While the arguments Marc Goldman makes are good, they are somewhat misdirected. Specifically, US gets 23.5% of its petroleum products (including crude oil) from Canada. Some significant portion of the remaining imports come from "non-hostile" states such as Mexico, Brazil, etc. So, imports are not an entirely objectionable situation. And the solution for the US is so simple: DRILL, BABY, DRILL!
