Thomas Represents the Dying Establishment Media.

Reader comment on: Hamas agrees with Helen Thomas

Submitted by S Rubicon (United States), Jun 7, 2010 15:12

If a conservative had made this comment, they would have been excoriated by the liberal media for months to come & the statement would have dogged that person even until death! Americans know their media have become liberals voice in all affairs. The old establishment media is suffering greatly as the public abandons them for alternative sources of news, that present the facts from both sides of an issue & permits the readers, viewer or listener to make up their own mind. The old media want to tailor their comments to tell the public what they want the public to believe.

Balanced reporting does not permit liberals to propagandize the public. Now, the administration wants American taxpayers to foot the bill to subsidize media operations. They have chosen to push for taxpayer support of "public" broadcasting. Yet the public also knows people like Bill Moyers on PBS & numerous other so called "public" broadcasters, are as rabidly liberal as the traditional media.

Freedom of the press means, no government involvement. It means no media operation is dependent on money from government. No one wants members of congress or any administration to be able to lord over the messages media delivers, by threatening to with-hold funds. If media outlets cannot make a profit, then they need to change their delivery, content & biased opinions so viewers are interested, or, they need to go broke & out of business.

Horses became obsolete when cars came about. I sat the horse & buggy old establishment mainstream media has reached its zenith & is now approaching obsolescence. Let them go broke! No taxpayer support for partisan bias!
