Herman Obermayer

Herman Obermayer is a retired journalist who worked for a number of publications as a reporter, advertising manager and Editor-Publisher for more than five decades. He served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland College of Journalism from 1989-1993.

In addition to his work with the Jewish Policy Center, he has served on the National Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) since 1996 and the National Council of the American Jewish Committee (AJC). In 1983 and 1984 he served as a Pulitzer Prize judge.

Mr. Obermayer was awarded the Rhineland Campaign Star for his service in the European Theater during World War II. The father of four daughters, he graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1948 where he was a Rufus Choate Scholar.
