The United Nations, according to reports like this one, determined this week that the Sheba Farms, now controlled by Israel, is Lebanese territory. This conflicts sharply with the 2000 UN determination that the territory was Syrian, and that final status would be inked in a Syria-Israel peace deal.
Seven years on, the UN now backs Hizbullah's argument that Sheba Farms are Lebanese. Indeed, the UN now justfies the terror group's latest rationale for attacking Israel.
Haaretz now reports that the UN may want Israel to hand over the area.
