Haaretz reports today that Israeli Police broke up an East Jerusalem gathering of Hamas and the Arab Israeli fundamentalist group known as the Islamic Movement.
Border Police officers threw stun grenades onto a rooftop where the meeting took place. The Islamic Movement's leader, Sheikh Raed Salah, was taken to hospital but was later released.
Israel bans Hamas and the Palestinian Authority from conducting political activity in East Jerusalem.
The Islamic Movement are the radical Islamists within Israel's Arab community, which is commonly identified as Israel's "fifth column."
