Another Blow to Hizbullah TV

Thai satellite firm THAICOM pulled the plug on al-Manar TV after learning it was run by Hizbollah, the Hindu Times reports.

THAICOM yanked al-Manar, just days into a “test run.” A spokeswoman insisted the company was unaware of the Hizbullah ties.

The Jerusalem Post reported last week that THAICOM had “boosted the resonance of Al-Manar’s propaganda messages around the world after other satellites had stopped airing the channel.”

The dangers of al-Manar were first noted by Avi Jorisch at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies then launched a campaign to ban Hizbullah from international airwaves.
