Last weekend, the Guardian posted a list of “everyone who has ever won the nobel peace prize,” citing Nobelprize.org as its source. But there was one problem: the three Israeli winners were missing.
Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin won the prize in 1994 along with Yasser Arafat “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East.” Menachem Begin won a Nobel in 1978 with Anwar Sadat for signing the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty. However, only Arafat’s and Sadat’s names appeared on the Guardian‘s list.
Following complaints and reports of the incident by Britain’s Telegraph and Spectator, the Guardian rectified its mistake.
