A special thank you to Charles Freilich who came to the JPC to speak about how Israel makes national security policy.

Chuck Freilich was a Senior Analyst at the Israel Ministry of Defense and a delegate at the Israeli Mission to the UN. He is now a senior fellow at the Belfer Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School.

Chuck recently completed a book on Israel’s national security decision making processes, “Zion’s Dilemmas: How Israel Makes National Security Policy”. The book was given the 2014 annual book award by the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), Israel’s foremost think tank. He is now nearing completion of a new book on Israeli national security strategy and has begun co-authoring a book on Israel and the cyber threat.

He lives in Netanya Israel and spends the spring semester in the US each year, where he teaches political science at Harvard, as well as at the IDC in Herzliya.
