John Podhoretz

John Podhoretz is the editor of Commentary Magazine, a columnist for New York Post, and a Contributing Editor of The Weekly Standard. He has served as a speechwriter for President Reagan and George H.W. Bush. A Fox News Channel contributor, he founded Insight Magazine as well. The author of four books, including the bestselling Bush Country, Mr. Podhoretz was the lead political columnist for the New York Post for 10 years and also served as the paper’s editorial-page editor and arts editor. He won the JC Penney–Missouri Journalism Award in 1990. and has worked at Time, the Washington Times, and U.S. News and World Report.

Mr. Podhoretz earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago in 1982. He is also the son of journalists Norman Podhoretz and Midge Decter, two other Jewish Policy Center Fellows.
